Wal-mart worker trampled to death in Black Friday stampede

Black friday shopping is a tradition for some people. Some of those people take it seriously, and camp out at stores like Best Buy, Wal-Mart, etc, just as soon as they finish their turkey on Thanksgiving. Some people don’t take it seriously, some just say to themselves “hey, these guys have a 1TB hard drive on sale for $100, thats a pretty damn good deal, and I want it!”. So they take themselves to the line on Thursday night or even early Friday morning, and wait. And wait. And wait some more, for that time that eventually comes when they open up the doors and let you in to fend for yourself grabbing the latest technologies at the lowest prices, or grabbing a 12 pack of your favorite soft drink for damn near free.
Whatever it is that you’re looking for, and whatever your tradition is or how seriously you take your Black Friday shopping, there is simply no excuse for what happened on New York’s Long Island Wal-Mart. A Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death by as many as 200 crazed shoppers who ran through the doors of the store as soon as they were opened. Some witnesses say that these crazed shoppers were acting like savages. Police and investigators have requested the stores surveillance tapes but also say that it’s unlikely that anybody will be charged.
So that’s what Black Friday shopping has come to? A mob mentality? These people are probably all normal 9-5ers or construction workers that have 2.3 kids and a white picket fence and all the average american crap. But Wal-Mart threw a deal into their face and the mass-media surrounding and upholding the craze of black friday shopping for the past 15-20 years or so turns these otherwise average. normal people into “savages”, crazy people who are willing to literally stomp over another helpless person than pick them up off the ground because they might not be able to get that last TV, or the last 5GB thumb drive, or what the hell ever it was these people were going for.
Unacceptable. With the technology we have, there is absolutely no reason why at least the people that came into physical contact with the fallen Wal-Mart employee should not be identified, found, and charged with, at the very least, criminally negligent homicide, or whatever New York’s version of that is. These people literally killed another person because they could not be bothered to stop and help. I don’t give a shit if they are giving away free blowjobs, a human’s life is more important than whatever materialistic garbage that you want to save a few bucks on, whether or not you personally know that person.
Shame on you people.
