12:44pm, Monday July 30th 2007, about 80 miles east of San Diego, on I-8 East. 98 Degrees F.
Well We left La Mesa, CA around 11:45am today, and we have had a pretty uneventful trip so far. We’re driving down a big fucking mountain at a 6% decline. Nothing crazy except the horseshoe curves, and the big fucking rocks that keep taunting us with “Sliding rock area! BEWARE!” signs. A few miles ago we passed a shitload of crazy looking windmills, and that was pretty weird. I think they put that shit there just for a little bit of extra wind power to push our 16ft high truck off the road. Did I mention about 75% of the road has absolutely no guard rails whatsoever? Thats quite reassuring when you’re looking about 1500 feet down at the bottom of a fucking canyon, nothing but air seperating you and certain death.
